On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, the Cashman Pro Photo Lab hosted their 11^th Annual Open House and Photography Contest. The event was attended by 183 visitors including local photography professionals, enthusiasts, students, instructors, and their families. Along with students from Clark County School District, we were joined by members of local photography clubs including the Nevada Camera Club, West Side Photo Club, and Women in Focus. The event was also the first Open House at Cashman Photo’s new headquarters at 6295 South Pioneer Way in Las Vegas.

Contest prizes included gift certificates for the Cashman Pro Photo Lab, large canvas and metal prints, large mounted special paper prints, USB drives, photo frames, and luxury photo albums.

The General Photography group for professionals and enthusiasts received 191 entries in categories for portraiture, scenic, and wildlife photography and 3,606 votes were cast both in online early voting and in person at the event to determine the winners.

The Student Group featured entries from several high schools in Clark County including Liberty, Faith Lutheran, Arbor View, Shadow Ridge, Spring Valley, Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, Desert Pines, West Career Technical Academy, and Centennial. There were 439 entries and 4,261 votes cast in categories for scenic and portrait photography as well as digital art.

Director of Cashman Pro Photo Lab, John Carl Seeley, stated that attendance was higher than expected, demonstrating the enthusiasm for photography that exists in the Las Vegas community. He was especially impressed with the student participation and their incredible display of technique and artistry.
